Forensic PTSD & Psychological Trauma Evaluations

Dr. Valerie Braunstein provides independent psychological evaluations for attorneys and legal matters involving PTSD, trauma-related symptoms, and psychological functioning. Each evaluation is tailored to the referral question and grounded in a careful review of symptoms, functioning, history, records, and context.

Evaluation services may include
• Attorney consultation to clarify the referral question and scope
• Clinical and forensic interviewing
• Review of medical, mental health, employment, educational, and other relevant records
• Psychological testing when appropriate
• Assessment of trauma-related symptoms, functional impact, and alternative explanations
• A comprehensive written report and consultation regarding findings

A clear, structured process
Before services begin, the scope, records needed, fees, jurisdictional considerations, and expected timeline are discussed. Turnaround depends on the referral question and volume of records. Dr. Braunstein maintains an objective role and cannot guarantee a particular legal, employment, disability, or benefits outcome.
